Dr. Fushcia-Ann Hoover
Dr. Hoover is an assistant professor of environmental planning at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, and founder of EcoGreenQueen, a company dedicated to teaching and expanding the use of environmental justice framings and methods across research and practice. As an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in urban social-ecologies, her research centers environmental justice, green infrastructure, and urban planning, exploring relationships between people, place and the environment. She holds a PhD in agricultural and biological engineering with a concentration in natural resource sciences from Purdue University. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and holds a deep respect and love for freshwater lakes, rivers and systems. Dr. Hoover is committed to public scholarship, scholar-activism and finding ways of decentralizing power both in and outside of the classroom.
