Joe Howarth

Joe moved to Charlotte in 2004 after graduating from Purdue University. After an eclectic collection of jobs he volunteered with the United Way’s Citizen Review Process. His work with the United Way led him to look at communities and specifically Charlotte in a more holistic way and wanted to learn more. He began work on a Community Planning master’s degree at UNC Charlotte in the Fall of 2011 and was recruited to be the liaison for the Graham Heights neighborhood in CHARP.

Joe has thoroughly enjoyed partnering with the residents of Graham Heights and looks forward to working with them in building a healthy neighborhood. The work he has done has been an immensely rewarding experience. He has partnered with the Graham Heights neighborhood to spearhead new programs to increase resident participation in the neighborhood association, to assist with grants to erect neighborhoods signs, and work alongside the strong and committed Graham Heights residents to bring about positive changes in their neighborhood.

Joe served as the Graham Heights neighborhood liaison.
