Farm Pond January Meeting

On January 21st, 2012, residents from Farm Pond came together at the Hickory Grove Recreation Center for a neighborhood meeting, which occurs on the 3rd Saturday of every month. City of Charlotte Southeast Service Area Specialist Charlenea Duncan, Code Inspector Marta Carson, and Lieutenant Childs from CMPD (including 2 other officers) were all in attendance. All shared some insightful and beneficial information to the residents of Farm Pond. Marta Carson addressed questions/concerns the residents presented about code enforcement. Lieutenant Childs encouraged the residents to coordinate with CMPD to better serve their neighborhood. Charlenea Duncan provided more info about strengthening a Neighborhood Association.

The overall goal of these monthly meetings is for the residents of Farm Pond to connect and build relationships in order to address the issues and concerns that are taking place in their neighborhood, and further move towards sustainability.

The next Farm Pond Neighborhood Association meeting will occur on Saturday, February 18th at 12:30 PM at the Hickory Grove Recreation Center, 6709 Pence Rd., Charlotte, NC, 28215.
